Dispute Resolution Group
The Law Union has a vigorous Litigation Department. Litigation arising from all areas of the firm’s practice is co-ordinated by this department.
Our experience spans the spectrum of judicial review of administrative action, construction disputes, intellectual property disputes, enforcement of human rights, environmental liability claims, insurance claims, debt recovery, landlord and tenant, shipping claims, claims for negligence and general contractual claims.
Our clients are diverse and we have rights of audience and experience of acting, before all courts and tribunals (except military courts) in Nigeria.
Our arbitration practice comprises partners, associates and outside counsel with experience of acting for international clients in local and international arbitral proceedings.
We have recently acted for a civil engineering and construction company in a dispute with the government of one of the Nigerian States; and are presently acting for the Federal Government of Nigeria in a major contract dispute.
